We build the books we wanted to keep.

NumKeep started with our own shoebox of receipts. We wanted books an accountant could file from, without becoming accountants ourselves.

Our Story

It started in 2023. As freelancers, we lost weekends to the end of every month: gathering receipts, matching them to statements and guessing at tax codes.

We founded Plainset (plainset.com) with a simple goal: to build tools that eliminate administrative friction. NumKeep is our flagship product in this mission.

Existing tools were either too simple to trust or too complex to use. We wanted the middle: strong enough for Canadian sales tax, simple enough to use without an accounting degree. Today, NumKeep keeps the books for Canadian owner-operators so their accountants can file from them.
